FBISD Alumni and NFL Player Devard Darling to honor Elkins High School Coach Dennis Brantley

FORT BEND ISD – Devard Darling, an Austin High School alumni turned NFL player, will honor his former high school coach, Dennis Brantley, at the Fourth Annual As One Foundation Water Gala. The event will take place on Thursday, May 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at Sterling McCall Lexus in Houston. Brantley, Head Football Coach at Elkins, will receive the first ever “Darling Heart to Heart Award” for his positive impact in the community in the areas of education, athletics and spiritual enrichment.

“As a former player of his, Coach Brantley meant so much to me and my brother,” said Devard Darling, President and Founder of the As One Foundation. “He IS the heart of whatever community he serves.”

The As One Foundation’s Water Gala is a signature event benefiting the foundation’s programs, including the Devard and Devaughn Darling Scholarship Award and Operation Hydration – a public awareness program that promotes hydration and sickle cell trait education.

Attendees in business attire will experience a festive evening of local cuisine, entertainment, including a silent and live auction of items such as a Lexus Luxury Golf Package, NFL tickets, autographed memorabilia, vacation packages and more.
