Legally Blonde the Musical
Keeping It Positive!

OMG you guys! Our very own Award-Winning Fort Bend Theatre will be opening Legally Blonde: The Musical at the Stafford Centre July 31st through August 2nd!
Legally Blonde is a musical based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name that starred Reese Witherspoon. Elle Woods, a sorority girl, enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend. Throughout the show, no one has faith in her abilities, but she manages to surprise them when she defies expectations while staying true to herself.

Fort Bend Theatre“This show just speaks to me,” says Executive Artistic Director Tarra McCain, “There’s so much joy in the show and the message is so positive. It’s about discovering the value in education, keeping integrity in all that you do and discovering your own voice. Elle was always a good person, but we see her transition from bubblehead to nobility. I loved that stereotypes are challenged and the characters are empowered. Elle doesn’t become what the guy wants her to be. She finds herself! It is a wonderful show for teenagers and adults alike who need a little reminder about staying true to who they are. We have a talented cast and the music is high-energy, lighthearted and fun. You’ll leave the theatre singing!”

Fort Bend TheatreTheatre goers will enjoy the state-of-the-art Stafford Centre experience that also includes complimentary parking. Bryan Blaum, President of FM Squared who manages the facility remarked, “The Stafford Centre is thrilled to be working again with Fort Bend Theatre on their production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. Fort Bend Theatre has hosted numerous performances at our Centre and they have all been impressive productions from the quality of actors, sets and the music. We are highly anticipating this upcoming production.”

The positive message of Legally Blonde is reflected in Fort Bend Theatre itself. It is the season finale for Fort Bend Theatre, who is celebrating their 26th anniversary of serving the community with inspiring theatrical performances and professional education in the arts.

We have so many opportunities both on stage and off,” says Tarra, “and in each show we have first time actors alongside professionals. It’s the most positive educational theatre I’ve been involved with. We’ve had our actors go on to Disney, major motion pictures, TV, commercials and modeling. Check out our camps and acting classes. They’re a great experience!” Together, Tarra McCain and Fort Bend Theatre have produced over 500 shows and entertained more than 500,000 patrons since their inception in 1989.
