“The Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With One Step.” – Lao Tzu

In her freshman year at Lamar University, Rosenberg native Patti Kocich took the first step towards her destiny. “I became very interested in physical therapy,” says Patti, “and after much research and summer volunteer work in the field, my goal was solidified.” But after graduating from PT school at UTMB Galveston, this hometown girl wanted to move home. “I worked a couple of jobs,” says Patti, “But there just wasn’t much opportunity in the area beyond the hospital and state school. What I really wanted was a more personal, less institutional approach to therapy. With that vision and the fearlessness of youth and I opened the Richmond location of Physical Therapy Care and Aquatic Rehab of Fort Bend in 1983.”

Thirty-two years later, the Richmond location is still thriving. Patti says, “We strive to be your local, neighborhood therapy provider. In Fulshear I saw the same opportunity to be a part of a growing, but close knit community. Meeting your needs starts with getting to know you, your goals and challenges. We work closely with your doctor, we offer easy access, and we are right here in the neighborhood!”

Built with nearly the same footprint as Richmond, the Fulshear location provides physical therapy, sports medicine, vestibular and balance rehab and wellness training to adults and children. Both locations include state of the art equipment and an on-site specialty pool heated to a therapeutic 90 degrees for aquatic rehabilitation. Patti says, “There’s just so much more the body can do in the water…water offers support to joints and bones, resistance to muscles, and can reduce swelling. We couldn’t imagine opening our second location without aquatic therapy!”

Don’t think you have to go to your hospital or the center downstairs from your doctor in the med center…you are free to choose your hometown therapy provider. Patti says, “Allow our staff of highly trained professional focus on you, listen to you, educate you, and walk with you on your journey to functional independence!”
