If you didn’t know that Mrs. Claus lives right here in Fort Bend County, let us be the first to introduce you. Ashley “Mrs. Claus” Spivey is the owner of local Mrs. Claus Cookie Company, where the mission is to spread smiles one cookie at a time!

“My husband Clayton and I both love Christmas,” explains Ashley. “And we wanted to own a business; do something for ourselves and build a legacy for our four children. I can bake, and I’m a Christmas freak. Clayton came up with the genius idea to call our company Mrs. Claus Cookie Company. My cookies aren’t just regular cookies. These are the cookies Mrs. Claus bakes for the elves at Christmas. Elf-sized cookies and brownies that are baked to perfection–crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We then serve them in a cup, making these treats easy to share, convenient to carry, and accessible wherever you might need a cookie.”

Standard Mrs. Claus Cookie Company flavors include chocolate chip, Ghirardelli brownie, and iced sugar cookie. But the fun doesn’t stop there. Ashley offers seasonal flavors too. “We’ve done red velvet, snickerdoodle, mint chocolate chip, and last summer we offered a to-die-for lemon cookie. For me, the best part is how happy people are biting into these cookies. I often hear, ‘Wow, this is really good!’ That is a magical moment. I would give these cookies away if I could. Making people smile is my passion!” Mrs. Claus Cookie Company’s future includes adding baking supplies, catering, an event venue and more to its offerings.

You might call Ashley the modern Mrs. Claus. She’s building an empire, raising a family, and not only does she love to bake…she also loves fast cars. “My dad owned and built muscle cars, and I have a lead foot,” says Ashley. “My first fast car was a Mustang. I’m addicted to them. With four kids, for a while a small car was not feasible. But now that we have teenage drivers, we could get a fun car. This year, Clayton gifted me with a 2021 Red Hot Camaro ZL1. It’s my Christmas, anniversary, birthday, and Valentine’s Day gift wrapped up into one.”

The Spiveys purchased Ashley’s new ride from Classic Chevy Sugar Land, locally owned by Jeff and Tiffany Sebastian. “We chose Chevy and the Camaro for its horsepower,” says Ashley. “At the test drive, the salesperson was trying to show me the different Camaro features, but I didn’t care. I just wanted to know how fast it could go! Working with Classic Chevy Sugar Land, we were able to order the exact car I wanted. I even had the opportunity to speak directly with the owner Tiffany. She is super sweet. We felt everyone we worked with at the dealership was very honest and professional…and they’re nice. Classic Chevy Sugar Land is really about customer service. Not to mention, they’re showroom is awesome. I visit just to see the classic Corvette they have on display.”

Clayton had personalized license plates made for Ashley’s Camaro, naming it “A SLEIGH.” His pride in what Ashley has accomplished as an entrepreneur, a mother, a wife, and an overall amazing person overflows when he speaks of her. He says, “This car is the outward projection of Ashley’s inner traits. It’s a way for her to express her strength and power, balanced with intelligence and beauty…and never say a word. You should see the looks she gets when she steps her high heel out of that driver’s door. Selfishly, it also gives me the opportunity to show the world what I see on a daily basis without having to brag on my wife. When you love someone, you want to see them happy, successful, and fulfilled. For my wife, that is family, business, and enough horsepower to make sure you remember her taillights!”
