Taste Some of the Best Chili Around…
and Win a Custom Rifle!

That’s right, the 6th Annual Classic Chevy Sugar Land Chili Challenge is just around the corner (April 14, 4-8pm) and this year the popular event includes the auctioning of a custom built AR-15!

2016 Classic Chevy Chili ChallengeWayne Duddlesten, owner of Duddlesten Rifle Works, has purchased two trucks from Classic Chevy and salesman Joe Machacek. “I’ve had some bad car buying experiences,” says Wayne, “but Joe and I just hit if off like—like old friends. I’ll only buy trucks from Joe until one of us dies!” And when Wayne showed up at the dealership to pickup the plates for his newest truck, his “old friend’ invited him to the Chili Challenge. “When I learned the proceeds benefit the Sugar Land Police Officer’s Association, I wanted to be a part of it,” says Wayne. “I have a soft place in my heart for both law enforcement and military. I told Joe I would donate an AR-15 to the auction next year. But I couldn’t sleep that night. I knew there was no reason I couldn’t do it this year. At 1am I got up and started ordering parts, and two hours later I sent Joe a message telling him he would have the gun this year. I got an email from Mark Kolon, the General Sales Manager, the following morning filled with gratitude. I’m glad and blessed that I could do it. I feel strongly about the cause, and I will be present at the Chili Challenge to present the bill of sale to the buyer.”

Wayne takes great pride in his work and has been recognized for his outstanding gun builds. He’s Armorers certified and holds an NRA instructor’s certification. In addition to building AR-15’s, he teaches rifle and pistol shooting and safety, including CHL exam preparation.

“We are ecstatic and grateful for Wayne’s donation,” says Don Kerstetter, owner of Classic Chevy. “And we invite all of you out to the dealership that evening for some great eating and family fun. We’ll have a live band, kids’ games, a bouncy house, fire trucks…and gallons of Fort Bend’s best chili. A $2 donation for admission (benefiting the Police Fund) will get you into the event for all the chili you can eat. Bring a pocket full of dollars to vote for your favorites and be ready to bid on the AR-15 too! Classic Chevy Sugar Land covers all expenses, so all money raised will go to the Sugar Land Police Officers Association.
