“Most people don’t have a concrete problem, they have a dirt problem,” says Rich Faust, owner of Southern Concrete Raising. “Water intrusion and inadequate backfill causes soil erosion, wash-out, and voiding. Your concrete tells you this by tilting and sinking, causing dangerous trip hazards and unsightly standing water. And then it cracks…until finally it breaks.”
.
Southern Concrete Raising offers a faster, less intrusive, more versatile, cleaner and much less expensive alternative to replacing your sinking patio, driveway, sidewalk, or pool deck or to installing costly piers under your home’s foundation. “Education,” says Rich, “is always the first step in our process. We assess why your concrete is sinking and then educate you on how to prevent it from happening again once we raise the concrete. Then we drill half-dollar size holes in the concrete and use our mud jacking process to pump in a mixture of top-soil, Portland cement powders, and hardeners until the void is filled and the trouble area is corrected. The mix is completely ‘green’…it’s a slurry that dries to a hardened dirt. Then we give the job a final check, fill the holes, clean the worksite and leave you with a leveled, stabilized area in mere hours at about 25% of the cost of replacing!”
.
“What it boils down to,” says Rich, “is bringing in dirt from another location and pumping it into the void under your concrete. It’s much simpler, cleaner and greener than replacing. When you replace, all of the existing concrete is jack-hammered up…causing quite a mess…and the broken pieces are put in a landfill. The concrete is replaced without ever identifying or fixing the underlying issue. So will the problem occur again? You bet!”
