Families and communities that grow strong never forget where they started. In 2006, the old MKT depot and caboose were restored and returned to their original location on the Katy tracks. Today the Katy Heritage Society maintains this historic site, as well as the Katy Heritage Park, featuring three historic homes, the Humble Mess Hall, the Old Post Office, the tool shed/wash house and Tradition Bank Bandstand. The Katy Heritage Society works to preserve the historic places that remind us of Katy’s beginnings.
