Sugar Land area natives and mother-daughter duo, Robin Harris and Jennifer Marker have always had a passion for adventure. “My mom was the cool mom,” says Jennifer. “She took me and my sister to concerts all over the country!” At 16, Robin took Jennifer to meet the relatively-unknown Brad Paisley at a local CD signing, where Brad offered Jennifer the phone number of his fan club president, Paul, to get backstage passes. “That long distance call lasted for hours,” says Jennifer. “My mom was angry, but I told her it didn’t matter, that was the man I was going to marry.” And Jennifer wasn’t kidding!

Jennifer and Paul were married after graduating from college in Nashville. Soon after, Jennifer’s father suddenly passed away. She moved their family back home to be closer to her mom. It was a devastating loss for the family, especially Robin who had recently become an empty-nester and now a widow.

Four years later, Robin came to Jennifer with the idea to open a store. It seemed crazy to Jennifer at the time, but she was open to her mom’s dream and Mimosa Rose was born. Robin says, “We make a great team. We both enjoy buying merchandise for the store. Together we provide customers with a unique selection. Jennifer handles the marketing and day-to-day management while I enjoy merchandising.” When Robin isn’t creating displays she can be found reliving the “good ole’ days” in the front row of a concert!
