The fourth annual American Cancer Society “Couture for the Cause” will be held on October 12th

“Cancer has extinguished too many bright lights in this world,” says Rick Ray. “My grandfather really raised me and losing him to cancer was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to endure. My wife Tara and I have friends and co-workers who’ve lives have been impacted. A woman at my office is a breast cancer survivor…and watching her go through that struggle and come out the other side was inspiring.Whether you live with the loss of a family member or know someone who’s battled cancer and survived, I think it’s time we work to really make a difference. That’s why Tara and I are so active with the American Cancer Society and are so pleased to be honorary chairs for this year’s Couture for the Cause event.”

“We think a lot about the individuals who deal with cancer,” Rick says, “but that’s only part of the devastation caused by this disease. At the Wealth Design Group, we offer financial planning, investment, and insurance. When handling life insurance policies we see the impact of cancer on the families who are left behind. I know everyone at the Wealth Design Group is proud we’re a Presenting Sponsor. We want families to be protected, safe, and happy for life.”

“If you’ve lost a loved one to cancer,” says Rick, “getting involved to raise awareness and fund a cure is the best way to honor them. In everything I do, the memory of my grandfather is always with me.”

The fourth annual American Cancer Society “Couture for the Cause” will be held on October 12th at a Tuscan-inspired private home in Sugar Land. Cari Middaugh, the 2013 Event Chair says, “Our theme is ‘La Dolce Vita’, the ‘Sweet Life.’ We hope to raise the awareness and resources to create a world with more birthdays, one sweet life at a time. We’ve planned an amazing evening including a Couture Fashion Show, a Wine Pull, a ‘Champagne and Diamonds’ raffle, and fabulous food from restaurants including BLU Restaurant and Lounge, Ray’s Grill, Mia Bella, Grimaldi’s, P.F. Chang’s, and Veritas. A portion of the funds raised will support the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge Houston, a home away from home at no-cost to cancer patients and their families.”
