FORT BEND ISD – The Austin High School Fine Arts Department will perform Annie Get Your Gun, directed by Bradly Cummons and Jennifer Minor. Performances will be held on February 1 and 2 at 7:00 pm in the Stephen F. Austin High School Auditorium (3434 Pheasant Creek Drive, Sugar Land, 77498).
In this award-winning musical, Annie Oakley takes aim to become the star of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. There’s just one small problem: she’ll need to outshoot its main attraction, Frank Butler – and it doesn’t help when she ultimately falls head over heels for him. “There’s no Business like Show Business” and Annie proves to Frank, “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better,” but Annie must decide what she wants to win more: their final shootout or his heart.
The play’s musical direction is by Mrs. Carolyn Vandiver, with musical and vocal direction by Joshua Feldpausch. Original music and lyrics for Annie Get Your Gun are by Irving Berlin, with book by Dorothy and Herbert Fields.
Tickets will be $8 for students and $12 for adults at the door.
