Chilling at the Coolest Place in Town

Jamie Feltus, Imperials General Manager and General Manager of the Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center, has what many of us would consider a “dream” job. She says, “On the ice, things move really quickly…so I was prepared for a job that would keep me on my toes!”

An avid hockey fan, Jamie has a soft spot in her heart for this hard-hitting sport. She says, “We have hockey classes, clinics, youth leagues, adult leagues, and the Imperials Hockey Team, Houston’s first NA3HL South Division team..making us the most comprehensive hockey program in the region! You can support the Imperials Hockey Team in several ways. Visit www.sugarlandice.com to check the schedule and buy tickets, or consider hosting a player. These kids are between the ages of sixteen and twenty, all really good kids with the goal of playing professional hockey. Support our local team and show these players our Sugar Land hospitality!”

“I’d also like to share an amazing opportunity. The Sugar Land Imperials Junior Hockey Club will conduct a “pre-draft” camp May 17-18. Camp will be conducted at the Sugar Land Ice and Sports Center in Sugar Land, TX. Players interested in becoming a member of the Imperials organization should make plans to attend both days. There is no cost for the camp however registration is required before attending. Visit our website to register.”

In addition to “learn to skate” and “figure skating” and “beginning hockey” classes, your kids can also learn and grow with a new spin on summer camp. When it comes to fun at this summer camp, skating is just the tip of the iceberg. Jamie says, “Whether campers are just beginning or already skilled, daily ice skating sessions give them a great workout and tons of fun! We’ve also partnered with IDEA Lab to offer kids camps that combined our signature ice activities with brain builders and themes for every interest from Lego and Minecraft to Top Chef and Crazy Art. In addition to skating, our camp kids also share pizza, play karaoke, spin in bumper cars on the ice, and play thrilling games of broomball.”

Normally Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center offers two rinks and 72,500 square feet of frozen fun. Jamie says, “In one of the tougher challenges we’ve faced, Rink B is undergoing repairs. We still have another rink open for “Open Skating” sessions, lessons, and parties…but we do ask that you call the rink with questions about our daily schedule. We’re working as hard and as quickly as possible to get back to our full two-rink, mega-fun capacity.”

As the weather heats up, spaces at Sugar Land’s coolest camp start filling up! Reserve your space in Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center’s summer camp today!
