Home is where our HEART is!

Fort Bend County is one of the most diverse counties in the nation. But did you know that local Keller Williams Southwest (KWSW) is just as culturally diverse? Located in the heart of Sugar Land on Highway 6, KWSW real estate agents hail from more than 20 countries and speak 17 different languages…and in this year of unprecedented change and adjustment, KWSW remains committed to protecting and providing what is necessary to keep things moving.

Agent Sapana Patel says, “We’ve always been a technological company, but with the global pandemic, we’ve become even more so. It’s created a unique experience for our clients. I recently sold a home in Avalon to a client retiring here from California. We met via FaceBook Live, I showed him the house using FB Live, and I introduced the client to the seller on FB. I had never used FB Live before, and I thought ‘No way!’ would they make a decision this way. But they did!” Video walkthroughs of homes on the market with professional voiceover have also become the norm for homes listed by KWSW.

Of course, seeing homes in person is still an option, and KWSW has multiple protocols in place for your safety. “COVID-19 wellness screening forms are signed by both buyers and sellers,” says KWSW agent Sharon Parker. “When I show a house, I carry booties, gloves, hand sanitizer, and masks with me to provide to my clients if needed. I open all doors and turn on all lights…making a house showing as contactless as possible. A nice side effect is people enjoy it; it really makes them feel special!”

The current real estate market in Fort Bend County is strong. People are moving here from all over for a variety of reasons. KWSW agent C.W. Ross says, “In many areas, public schools are not an option. That is not the case here. FBISD is one of the leading school districts in the area. With an increased ability to work from home, people from inside the loop are moving here for the schools. We have some well-thought-out communities with public schools, grocery stores, and doctors all within walking distance.” Home affordability is also a driving factor. Sharon recently sold a home to a retired veteran who moved back here from California, an individual who had never before experienced home ownership. Sharon says, “He’s thrilled to finally own a home in retirement! It was just not possible in California.”

KWSW agent Aqeel Virk moved here from Pakistan two years ago. “I discovered this area online,” says Aqeel. “I found Sugar Land to be beautiful, with high-end schools and big businesses.” Aqeel earned his real estate license in March of 2019, and has been very impressed by the educational culture at KWSW. He says, “The atmosphere here is very good, agents support each other. It doesn’t matter your background…this is a great place to start. The in-house training is amazing. I have a lot of clients that move here from out of state or out of the country. I love that I’m able to share my own story with my clients.” Agent C.W. Ross adds, “I’ve worked at several other agencies. This is also a great place for seasoned agents. It really gives you a different shot in the arm. It’s about quality, not quantity, and we are a team. Our Top 20 agents are all approachable and willing to share what’s needed to get to the next level. Keller Williams Southwest has the most supportive leadership and technologically advanced tools of any brokerage I’ve been associated with.”
