When Chuck Laughter and Keith Teague opened Talyard Brewing Co. last year, they created a family-friendly entertainment hub, centered around good beer, delicious food, and fun activities. Friends for 25 years, they knew each other when they were both in the corporate world doing corporate things.
“Keith and I spent a lot of years in corporate America. And we attended tons of corporate events,” Chuck says. “I felt like ‘you’ve seen one and you’ve seen them all.’”
That is, until now.
Talyard was designed to have the ability to host events from 10 to 1,000 people. Talyard Brewing Co. sits on three and a half acres near Constellation Field in Sugar Land, where the Space Cowboys play. It offers:
• Two-story tap room with 30-taps and casual community tables downstairs
• Intimate upstairs area with three separate event or hangout spaces
• Large open space that can seat around 100 people at tables and cozy eight-person booths, with one huge and three large display screens, its own bar with 20-taps, and a cozy fireplace
• Private dining room for more intimate events with two screens
• Covered terrace that is secluded from the main dining area with two more big screens that overlooks the property
• Tons of outdoor areas, including:
• Beer garden with full-size stage and huge screen
• Kids’ playground
• Pickleball courts
• Cornhole games
• Picnic tables and adirondack chairs for gathering together
Chuck and Keith brought on Event Sales Manager Valerie Bode as a dedicated employee to cater to all event types. “When we help our clients host private events, whether corporate or family-related, we take care of everything. We don’t sell packages – we sell individual experiences,” Valerie says. “I dig deep to understand their vision, so they can just focus on hosting. A party here can be as informal, or as elegant and sophisticated as the client wishes.”
“We have a full kitchen with delicious food options, many of them using our own beers in the ingredients,” Valerie says. “Our chef can accommodate any culinary experiences the guest requests. We just meet the needs of our clients.”
“We love hosting business events during the weekdays, or anytime. We’ve done beer flights, guided pairings with special cheeses and our brews – if you can think of it, we can make it happen,” Valerie says.
