Pure & Pops Fine Arts Concert Series at Sugar Land First UMC

Pure & Pops Fine Arts Concert Series at Sugar Land First United Methodist Church

Sugar Land First United Methodist is proud to present its first ever fine arts concert series, Pure & Pops!

Pure & Pops is a delightful mix of classical virtuosity and light-hearted perfection. These amazing artists will share their incredible talents, stir your soul and tickle your funny bone. Sometimes in the same performance! Many concerts include a dessert reception where you can relax and meet the artists. All concerts are free of charge; however, love offerings will be accepted. For a list of all our concerts and featured artists, please visit our web site: http://www.sugarlandmethodist.org/content/pure-pops.

Our upcoming featured artist is Rob Landes, organist & pianist, on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 11, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary followed by a dessert reception with the artist.

Rob Landes began studying the piano at the age of three and made his “debut” on the Art Linkletter House Party program at the age of four. A native Houstonian, his playing has taken him from the United States and Canada, to Norway, France, Germany, and the UK. Landes is widely known as a pianist, organist, arranger, conductor, and published composer. He is associated with six national publishers and has 15 CDs.

The Rob Landes Trio is well known for performances in concert at Jones Hall, The Wortham Theatre, The Tower Theatre, The Houston Jazz Festival and the Galveston Opera House. They appeared weekly for three years on Channel 13’s Good Morning Houston. Rob has been the Organist and Artist-in-Residence at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church since 1996.

Rob will be presenting his concert “Music You Love” playing several of his own selections along with taking requests from the audience. This will be fun for everyone!
