OMG you guys! Our very own Award-Winning Fort Bend Theatre will be opening Legally Blonde: The Musical at the Stafford Centre July 31st through August 2nd! Legally Blonde is a musical based on the novel Legally Blonde by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name that starred Reese Witherspoon. Elle Woods, a sorority girl, enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend. Throughout the show, no one has faith in her abilities, but she manages to surprise them when she defies expectations while staying true to herself.

With support from The Pub Fountains, Fort Bend Cares extended its assistance to children and youth in Fort Bend County from financial to physical in the form of a new playground located in Community Park in Rosenberg.

The late Dr. Robert Stewart was one of the founding doctors of Houston Eye Associates—now the largest ophthalmology group in the United States. While providing some of the best eye care in the country, Dr. Stewart allowed his son, Colby, to spend high school summers working as a technician and scribe in his office. “I learned so much those summers,” says Colby. “My father had a special connection with his patients by educating them, and making them feel at ease.” Today, Dr. Colby Stewart MD has followed in his father’s footsteps at Houston Eye Associates, and has blazed a trail of his own in LASIK and cataract surgery.

The Junior Fashionista Board at Pennywise–the resale centers benefiting the Fort Bend Women’s Center–is a fantastic opportunity for students to earn service hours and learn fashion and retail skills. We talked to Jamay Fishbeck, model and volunteer Lead Fashionista, and two of the Junior Fashionistas, Shellcy Chatham and Alyssa Merlos, to get an upclose look at the program.
